4th of July... I'm trying to get a little head start on my 4th cards.. so far I have made one !! (big laugh) I just love the Red, White & Blue.. I'm a very patriotic person... I cry every time I hear the "National Anthem" or the "Star Spangled Banner".. and when I see a soldier in uniform.. I just loose it :(.... I always think of my dad (Navy) my uncles & husband (Marines) my best friend (Air Force) and all of the men and women fighting for our country today... What brave and selfless people they are.. we need to remember them in our prayers everyday.. I found this patriotic cupcake stamp on sale at my local stamp store, there are a lot of cute images in the set.. all cupcakes, so cute.. and don't ya just love the sparkler :)

I used scraps (what else) a tiny tag from MishMash, some bakers twine to tie on the tag and some of my inked wrinkle ribbon.. the top of the cupcake is all Stickles, hard to see in the pic..

Peach Pie... I did it.. peach pie from scratch.. well I should say pie crust !! Peaches were out of a can :) A little flour, salt, sugar, Crisco, butter and ice water... and voila ! Pie crust.. well, it wasn't that easy but almost.. and oh so much better than the frozen stuff (yuck) the flower is strategically placed to cover a hole.. but that's just between you and me :)

here is my new recipe organizer from "Paula Dean", we carry her line at Michael's now..

And the best of all is that the pie even tasted good !! I used to bake all the time when my boys were little (a hundred years ago) but this is the first in a long time and it wasn't so bad... I just might do it again sometime !

Just a Note... Good morning... I have a little note pad to share with you today.. I "lifted" the idea from "MishMash" Michelle Woodersons blog, such a cute idea and you can never have too many note pads... :) I used scraps, an old tag that I inked and distressed, a button, twine...

a little embellishment from Melissa Frances.. the little piece that looks like a tape measure is stamped on heavy twill with a stamp from "Fashionista" (Stampendous), I will have more to come using that stamp... 'notes' and 'this & that' are PaperTrey Ink "Take Note" stamp set..

Fathers Day.... Hi, everyone... I'm still here :) just been busy with work and life !! but I wanted to share a quick (and easy) Fathers Day card with you.. I found this stamp on sale and have been waiting to use it.. lots of other images in the set but I really liked this one because my dad always wore a tie to work and he didn't take it off till he went to bed.. boy times have changed haven't they..... you very seldom see a man with a tie on... if they only knew how good they looked all dressed up (big smile:) now they wear their pants down around their **** well, let's not get into that !! Anyway... I used some leftover paper... the middle tie is paper pieced and the other two are colored with Copics..

No ribbon or bling... but I still really like the way this turned out.. Hope you all are having a good day.. see you tomorrow ... Jen

Mojo 141... Hey everyone... well it's Mojo Monday time again .. ( on Thursday ) isn't she cute.. the stamp is from Hero Arts, we got them in at work and I just had to have it :) there are three stamps in the set .. I colored her with Copics...

Paper is "Basic Grey" and the ribbon is some seam binding I inked then spritzed with water, scrunched it up and let it dry ... love the look of the wrinkled ribbon.. well, gonna go turn on the air get a tall glass of iced tea and watch the Lakers... have a good evening... Jen

Just Because... I received my "PaperTreyInk" order yesterday and I just couldn't wait to try out the butterfly and fillable frames die #4... I did the butterfly out of some old book pages and ink them with chestnut brown. and added a little button.. I used the "Fillable Frames" mini stamp set #4 and the "Vintage Picnic" sentiments for the "Just Because"

the "Tiny Tag" is from MishMash (michelle wooderson) and pin is "Tim Holtz"

This is the inside of the card...stamp is "Inkadinkadoo"... love that name ! I punched the border with a "Martha Stewart" border, I think it's called loops..

I also bought some wool felt and notepads, I have some ideas for them.. hope to share that with you soon... It was a hot one here today and gonna be hotter tomorrow so after work I think I will be in my craft room with the air on crafting the night away... hope your having a good week... enjoy. Jen

Bee Happy !! A quick card to share before I'm off to work.. This was a very easy card.. I used some new "stuff".. the bee & vine are outline stickers from "Peel Offs".. then I colored them in with glaze pens.. and a "Bee Happy" stamp from "CTMH"... Love It !!!! I just love this bicycle stamp from "Our Craft Lounge"... the basket and streamers were little add ons.. so cute.. I cut out the basket and added a pop dot do give it some dimension.. I wish you could see it in person ! First I stamped the image then embossed it with extra thick powder, then I colored it with Copics and used Glaze pens on the flowers.. I'm really loving the glaze :) This is the inside.. the set came with some really cute sayings.. can't wait to use this stamp again and again.. I will share a couple of cards with you tomorrow that I also use the glaze pens on.. I'm off again today and I hope to have a few things to share with you in the next few days... and I am waiting for a stamp order from "JustRite Stampers" and some goodies from "Michelle Wooderson" (yeah !)... will share that too... enjoy... Love these bright colors for a change, I don't use them very often. Peanut Butterscotch Candy.... Yummy... these are so good, they just melt in your mouth...and are very easy (but messy) to make :) I purchased the candy cups and Wilton chocolate at Michaels..

and a new recipe book.. actually it's a 4 x 6 photo album but the recipe album I want from cookbookpeople.com is out of stock... so will use this one for now.. I plan on copying all of my grandmas recipes to this one, some of them are hand written by her and very old. She died when she was 92 and that was in the early 70's !!! and a lot of my mom's too, I really treasure these recipes..

A Sweet Life... I am really loving this hand dyed seam binding, yes seam binding... remember that stuff :) I remember using it to hem my pants.. since I'm vertically challenged, I had to hem ALL of my pants and dresses !!! I used "Bazill" kraft card stock, the ribbon is from "Michelle Wooderson" (etsy) robins egg blue.. the applique is the one I tea dyed, chipboard swirl (and paper) is "Best Occasions", purchased at TJMaxx in the dollar bin .. I painted it and sprinkled on some "Martha Stewart" blue topaz course glitter...

The image is "K & Co." the flower is "Recollections", it was a little to yellow so I inked it with chestnut brown and the dragon fly is from my stash..

It's been a great week so far, great weather.. about 75 all week, sort of cloudy today but I love it..

I'm really looking forward to Friday off.. I have a lot of ideas and now I just need to get them down on paper :) A couple of little ladies came in the store yesterday looking for some paper cups to put candy in, and I asked what they were making... "Peanut Butterscotch " candy... and they gave me the recipe.. Can't wait to make it ... I take all of my new recipes to work and I tell everyone " If you like it .. I made it.. if you don't .... someone else did " but they seem to always like what I make.. ( most of them are young, single and live on their own so I think they are just glad to get something home made !!) Will share the candy with you tomorrow.. thanks for stopping by... Jen

Happy Friday... Hi everyone... I went to Temecula to the antique malls today and these are the treasures I found.. Some little flowers, lace, appliques, buttons, old creamer..... a couple of tea cups and a pattern.. notice the price (holy cow). Think I will make some flowers out of the pattern, not sure but I just had to have it :) I also stopped at the stamp store.. will share that with you tomorrow.
