What The Heck.... Is it a duck.... is it a goose... I'm not sure, but it was in the pool the other day... so of course I ran and grabbed the camera. He (or she) wasn't afraid at all, he was walking around he backyard and then back in the pool... and the whole time I was snapping away :) I think it is a baby... Look at those funny feet :)
Well, if anyone knows what the heck it is, please let me know !!
I have been busy making Christmas cards... so will be sharing those with you soon.. don't give up on me, I promise I won't be gone long.... Hugs... Jen

Thank a Solider.. First off all I want to thank all of the soldiers out there protecting our country... I come from a family of Marines ( dad was a Navy man ). My uncles are gone now ( retired Gunnery Sgts ) but they all had great stories to tell... My dad was on a ship, The USS Hamlin, and he was out on deck early one morning having a cup of coffee and saw the soldiers raise the American flag on Mt Suribachi, Iwo Jima in WWII... what a great story to tell my grand kids, because I'm sure they will not learn of the flag raising in school... It was another beautiful day here... I could really get used to this :)... Here is a Thanksgiving card I made using a stamp from "Our Craft Lounge" , Spellbinders die and paper from a Debbie Mumm paper pack.. all on kraft cardstock and colored with Copics..

A leftover little bling and ribbon, a doily from the dollar store.. and a matching envelope...

Thank you for stopping by, enjoy your evening and will hopefully see you this weekend since I have if off (Woo Hoo) .... Hugs... Jen

And I'm proud to be an American where at least I know I'm free. And I won't forget the men who died, who gave that right to me..

Still Here... Yes, fall is still here... but this is California so it could be 90 tomorrow :( Anyway, here is the "Big Block" candle holder.. for this project I used a 4" wooden block covered with DCWV paper. Then sanded and inked all sides.. the candle holder is a small wooden napkin ring I painted and inked then hot glued to the top.. I took apart a floral pick (love the little bird) and hot glued it to the top...
and added a couple of red small bows...
The little embellishments you see are K & Co.
Thanks for stopping by.. enjoy your day.. Jen

Happy Monday... I think fall is finally here in sunny Cali ... its 65 here with a cool breeze.. I LOVE IT (huge smile)... and going to stay this way all week... I put out my fall decorations, made some pumpkin bread and homemade soup... and did a little crafting... This is a "Days To Christmas" block calendar I made for my little "idea" shelf at work.. I used four 1 1/2 " wooden blocks and cut squares of paper from a DCWV paper pad, adhered them then sanded all sides. The letters and numbers are some leftovers I had.. and then added a fancy red ribbon !! All products are from Michaels.. (where else) These were fun and quick to make !! I hope you are all enjoying your day as much as I am !! See you tomorrow with a big block candle holder... Jen

Halloween...* Hi friends... I have another Halloween card to show you.. and I LOVE this one :) I really like using the images from Crafty Secrets... all of their images are so cute... the lace behind the picture is antique, I found it in with all of my doily's that my grandma made... she might have made this too, not sure. I glittered some Tattered Angels chipboard with Martha Stewart tinsel glitter in copper... the measuring tape ribbon is from Michaels and I inked it with Tea Dye ink... and added some crinkle ribbon and a little Prima flower and leaf... Well, I'm going to go make some Chicken Piccata for dinner and then get ready for the crop tomorrow at work... I get paid to crop... how cool is that :).. enjoy.. Jen

Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas.. oh, I just love it.. (big smile:)I colored her with Coics, used a Spellbinders die to cut her out, matted with orange cardstock and put a crepe paper ruffle around the mat.. I have been doing a lot with the crepe paper lately.. it really adds texture.. Stickles on her hat fringe and shoelaces.. wish you could see it :(

Hi... Well, I managed to get started on my Halloween cards... we finally got the new stamps in at ... where else..... Michael's !! This is a dollar stamp, I really don't like paying a lot for them since you only use them once a year .. (cheap:) Anyway.. the border is a "Martha Stewart" around the page spider web punch, once you get used to using them, they are pretty easy, you just have to make sure your paper is cut to the right measurements... The rest of the card is all scraps ( you tired of hearing that yet ?)... Hope you are all having a good day... it's 95 here in sunny Cali today, hope it's cooler where you are.... Jen

Dump Cake... I know... what an awful name for a cake.. but that's what its called (at least in my family).. and here are the makings for this yummy dessert.. minus the butter, didn't want it to melt during the picture taking :) I was in a baking mood and this recipe is so easy ... you can use any brands you like, but this is what Wal-mart had !!
And here it is the fresh out of the oven...
And here is the recipe...
1 can crushed pineapple
1 can cherry pie filling
1 box yellow cake mix
3/4 c. chopped nuts ( i used pecans )
1 1/2 stick butter
Layer first four ingredients in a 9 x 13 pan greased ( or sprayed ), crumble butter over top. Bake at 350 for 1 hour. It is best served hot with ice cream... who am I kidding, its good hot or cold :)
I have been making this dessert for years and it gets better every time. You could also use peaches or raspberries. I haven't tried any other fruit but with a stick and a half of butter how could you go wrong :)
Thanks for stopping by... have a great day...Jen
