We had a very tough weekend.. My 22 year old

niece was killed in a car accident early Sunday

morning.. she leaves behind a 3 yr old little boy

who will dearly miss his mommy.. I won't be doing

any posting for a while, I think you can understand..

I'm gonna go hug my kid's and grand kids now

and you go give yours a big

hug too.. Jen

Chucky Cheese...

This was Alyssa's official birthday party at

Chucky Cheese.. awful pizza, screaming kids,

creepy man in the mouse suit... but she loved

it !! Her friend Madison was there and they went

on every ride and tried to play the video games..

they are still to little.. but they thought they were

winning .. so cute :)

I will be looking for a new house this weekend,

so I will hopefully be back on Monday with a

Mojo card.. Have a "cool" weekend.. Jen

Boo & eek !!!

Holy Cow Man.. it was a hot one here today in Cali..

104 in the shade !! so I didn't do much packing, I turned

on the air and made a few Halloween cards just for fun..

I got the stamps in the dollar bin at Michaels..

I used scraps leftover from last year..

Sure hope it's cooler where you are.

It's supposed to be another scorcher here

Mojo Monday 101

I finally got to create.. I am SO tired of looking for

a house so I just decided to make a card and work on

some pages for Alyssa's 4th birthday party.. yes there are

more pics.. her official party was at .... where else...

Chucky Cheese.. not my favorite place but she had a lot

of fun.. I'm having so much fun using all of the clip art

I forgot I had.. and I know I will need quite a few

Halloween cards so I did this one for Mojo Monday 101..

Tea Time Book...

Hi.. hope everyone had a good week.. mine

was very busy.. I didn't get a chance to do any

cards and probably won't until all of the house

hunting and moving is done.. Sooo, I wanted to

share a "Tea Time" book I made a while ago to keep

receipts, ideas, coupons etc. in..

I used 5 x 7 top loading envelopes, I used 5 and the

front and back are cardboard. I cut off the top,

then covered front and back of each envelope

with patterened paper I made

and A LOT of clip art...

The binding is an accordian fold strip and the

envelopes are glued between each fold.

(does that make sence)

I love black toile, I hope to use a little in my new house ( a little goes a long way ! )

You can't see the saying on this very well but it says..

"There is no trouble so great or grave that

cannot be deminished with a cup of tea..."

This one says...

"Remember the tea kettle....it is always

up to it's neck in hot water, yet it still sings"

I put a black cardstock binding on with ribbon to

keep it closed.. I really enjoy making books, I have

made quite a few for friends and my grandkids.

I hope one day they will enjoy them.. Well,

hope you all have a great weekend, I probably

won't be here for a few days, but you never know..

it's hard for me to stop creating and doing what I love to

do so I could be back tomorrow.. (big grin:)

Tuesday already ..... looked at houses ALL day Sunday and some

of today. Found a couple but still looking !!

Fall Banner...

Hi .. hope all of you had a good week, mine was

very busy...we sold our house so now the

work starts. We are looking for a new house

and packing up 15 years of stuff.. and of course

the big garage sale to get rid of a lot !!

Here is the project I have been working on, my Fall Banner

I love it.. love all the fall colors. I bought the "Speaking of Fall"

Cricut cartridge.. it worked great, there are lots of

leaves, pumpkins and two different fonts..

of course another paper "book" flower... sprayed

with Tattered Angel's glimmer mist.. much cuter in person... looks really dark here..

Chipboard letters, stamps, buttons and twine,

split rings and tulle ( that doesn't look like it's

spelled right, but I checked an it is :)

now I am working on a Christmas project, I'm not

sure yet if it will be a banner or something else..

I can't believe how fast this week is going..

Thursday already !! I had some scraps leftover from

Alyssa's B'day pages so I decided to make a

few thank you cards, it seems like you can never

have enough of those... I had

a little assembly line going

and got them made super fast...

I used some stamps, (can't remember the brand ) vintage buttons,

ribbon and twine.. gotta love the twine.. a finishing touch :)

I'm going to work on a new project

I started last weekend... it's soooo cute..

guess you'll have to check back to see what it is..

Mojo Monday 99...

Wow.. Wednesday already and I just

finished my mojo card.. My friend Pat gave me

a whole envelope full of stamped images and scraps..

I am in heaven :) this is the card I made using one of the

images, isn't she cute :) I never could "hula hoop" !

Thank you so much Pat, I am so lucky to have

a friend like you !

Birthday Cake...

Wow... what a busy weekend. The all day crop on Friday

was a blast !! seven of us eating, talking, laughing and a

little scrappin' !! what a good time ! Open house Saturday

so we had to be out of the house all day, drove out to see

some good friends, Steve & Judy.. saw all of Judy's quilts

she made, they are beautiful, I wish I had that much

patience :) Then drove 460 miles (round trip ) to see my son

Jason.. A LOT of driving.... Well, here is one of the pages I

did for Alyssa, it was her 4th birthday and she wanted

to pick out her cake, she picked a carrot cake, she doesn't

eat the cake but she LOVES the cream cheese frosting !!

I will have another page to show you tomorrow,

and a Mojo Monday Card..

Scrapbooking fills my days.. not to mention my

living room, dining room and closets !!!

Hurry Fall !!

I can't wait for fall .. pumpkins, fall colors, and

cooler weather ! Here in Cali, cooler weather is

around 80 degrees, but as HOT as it's been here

lately, that would be a welcome change :) I decided

to do some Thanksgiving cards to get me in the

mood for the holidays.. ( that's not very hard to do )

My friend Pat gave me all of her CTMH pens..

Im lovin' this new stamp set from TPC Studios.. All day crop here tomorrow, so hopefully I will have some pages to show you... OR... BEE'S..BEE's..BEE'S...

No more bee's !! The bee guys got here around 9am and

started removing the corner of the roof where the hive was.

The beehive was between the walls so it was sort of flat.. not

like the normal hive's you see on tv, you know sort of round..

He said they had been there around 10 or 11 months,

and there was at least 30 pounds of wax & honey..

I did get to taste it and of course it was very good... It's

amazing how perfect the honeycomb was... just one of

God's miracles..

Altered Composition Book...

I found Comp books at Wal-mart for 50 cents each..

so I bought a few of them to have on hand.. I write down

everything, ideas, shopping lists, songs I've heard that I

want to put on my ipod, recipes.. well, you know stuff like

that..

I am really into these paper flowers, thanks to

donnasalazar.typepad.com

you can spray them or ink them any color,

so they will match whatever

you are doing..and so easy to make..

I just bought a old book for a dollar at the

thrift store, it was cheap so I don't feel so bad

tearing a page out :) I'm hoping it will be cooler today,

it was 103 yesterday, to stinkin" hot !! I'll be back

tomorrow with a few cards.. ttfn... Jen

Mojo 98...

Here is my take on the Mojo Monday 98 sketch..

I had fun making this card.. I cut out the flower

with a spellbinders die and used a page from an

old book, crumpled ( is that a word?) it up and

sprayed it with glimmer mist...

I stamped the white ribbon with "Best Wishes"..and

of course just used scraps.. (of which I have many ! )

One of my cousins in Oklahoma got "hitched" on Saturday

so I think I will send this to him.. Enjoy your day &

Monday, Monday !!!!

Hope everyone had a good weekend..

We looked at houses... man there are a lot

of REO's and short sales out there.. We didn't

look at one house that had furniture in it !! And

most of them were a mess .. real fixer uppers :(

I did get to Michael's and found a wood frame, I

had no idea what I was going to do with it... but

this is what it looks like now...

I painted it and stamped around the outside

and inner frame..

The saying is " Happiness walks on busy feet"

I cut out flowers on the Cricut & added a "J" with a

little fairy on top in the center instead of a picture..

Then added some buttons and twine..this was a lot

of fun to make, I might have to do a few of these

for gifts :)

I wish you could have seen this in person..

I looked up and Alyssa was sharing her sucker with

Sophie.. so of course I had to run and get my camera,

(don't worry I washed the sucker off before I let Alyssa

have it) they are so cute together. I think they are

becoming best friends :)

I made the "flower" out of vellum. I wrinkled it up, inked it and added the button and twine.
