Summer at Tiffany... Hey everyone, I found a new card challenge (well new to me)... the minute I saw the challenge I knew I had to do it...
I found these cute stamps at Michael's. they are "Imaginisce" the little poodle was perfect for this !! and I absolutely love the "Ooh la la!" Im always saying that to Alyssa :) I think I will save this for her 5th birthday, which is in a few weeks... the paper is from DCWV "Mariposa" .. and Spellbinders dies. I embossed the poodle & saying with Sky Blue powder (Stampendous)..looks so shiny in person :) you can check out the challenge site.. 365cards.blogspot.com ..and give it a try... so much fun (big grin)..
Hope your day has been a good one... enjoy.. Jen

Candle Cozies !!! Hi friends, I want to share a couple of "candle cozies" I made for Michael's ... I cut two 3" x 12" pieces of paper, glued them together leaving a small seam, then I punched both sides with a EK Success border punch.. this paper was a very heavy cardstock and not at all easy to accordion fold.. but I did manage to get it done (whew) then I punched a hole in the middle with my cropadile and ran a ribbon through. On the next cozies I make I will make sure the seam in in the back.... I don't know what I was thinkin' putting it in the front... (guess I wasn't thinkin')
On this one I used a lighter weight paper and a different, bigger, EK Success border punch...
I put this one on a black candle at work and it really looks good.. very Halloweeny !! (hehe)
And lastly, a little treat box... I plan on making a lot of these for "Trick-or-Treat" this year... I took apart a Godiva chocolate box (the dark choc covered almonds were delicious) and made a template.. I put a piece of acetate for the little window... then punched a tag and added a ribbon... cute !!!
Wow... I have been having so much fun... I'm starting to enjoy going into work in the afternoon, I get so much done in the mornings !!! bad part is that I don't get home till 10 (yuck)...
Enjoy the rest of your day... Jen

Update : this is my second post of the day (woohoo) ... I'm on a roll, just crafting like crazy !! I don't have to go to work till 5:30 ( I'm ready to relax & watch TV at 5:30.. geez) so I thot I would get a few things done.. still haven't cleaned my craft room yet, I'll do that later :)
Love this cupcake stamp from the Michael's dollar bin.. sentiment is from Inkadinkadoo... little flower stick pin is K & Co. The paper is from Scrapbook Inspirations magazine, they always include some paper.. I really like that mag.. its from England and sort of hard to find, but every once and a while you can find it at Barnes & Noble...
These are the Copics I used.. I really must get some more of these !! Hopefully I can get Michael's to start carrying them soon..
Well, I'm off to do some more crafting.. enjoy... Jen

Little Black Box.. Good morning ... it's a beautiful day here in Cali., hopefully not too hot (sigh)... anyway, I have been having a lot of fun designing samples for Michael's. This box was a VERY bright multicolor ugly box.. but now it's so cute (at least I think so :) and of course I used my grandkids pictures... I think I will ask some of the employees for pics of their families... I'm sure customers are getting tired of just seeing these two adorable kids !! the checked paper is Rusty Pickle "Scardy Cat" (other side is Halloween cat's) wooden feet & knob I painted black, frames were cut on the Cricut "Storybook" cartridge. Paper on top is T!m Holtz new paper pack "Lost & Found" . I will be using this a lot, it is very cool !! he also has another one "Vintage Shabby" in blues and pinks, cant wait to use some :) The key is also T!m Holtz and I used a little tulle and crinkle ribbon.. and the bling is from Want2Scrap...
I added some little embellie's I had in my stash.. and printed the pictures in sepia tone..
Well, what do you think ? would love to know.. I have a few more project's in the works and I will share those with you when finished.. Now... do I clean up my mess and start making another one or do I just keep working... decisions.. decisions... have a great day... Jen

Graduation !!! Well, Alyssa is officially a kindergartner now !! I can't believe she will be 5 soon... This was her graduation ceremony, she was so proud and looked sooo cute in her cap and gown :)
The background and dotted paper are "Recollections" and the yellow flower is "Bazzill".. The big chipboard letters are some I got a Joann's a hundred years ago.. they are plain and I painted them yellow... (I still have a ton, so you will be seeing a lot more of them ) ...
Have a good day ... and stay cool .... Jen

4th Of July... I hope all of you had a great 4th.. I sure did, I had my family and some neighbors over for a BBQ and swimming.. first party since we have been in the new house !! Then over to the park to watch the fireworks.. I don't think Joe saw any of them, he was too busy looking for spiders (eek). I had today off and finally got to do some pages for my 2 page layout class at work... Of course this month is " The 4th Of July ". I used Bazzill cardstock, Creative Imaginations & Basic Grey patterned paper. The stars are cut on Sizzix, 4th & 2010 was cut on the Cricut "Stand & Salute" Cartridge. I really enjoyed making the accordion fold flowers.. I guess that's what you call them ! and an EK Success punch to cut the borders...
I need to go check out my favorite blogs now.. enjoy your evening... Jen

Mojo 145... Wow.. July 1st already.. where did the time go !!! Before you know it, it will be Christmas (sorry).. I am really looking forward to fall, I think it's my favorite time of year. We are already getting in all of fall decorations at Michael's.. (love, love, love the fall colors :) everyone that comes in the store says "fall stuff already" but I love walking down the aisles looking at all of the wonderful colors... Anyway, here is the Mojo Monday sketch for this week. I really enjoyed making this card. All of the paper is from Basic Grey "Urban Prairie" collection, the bird stamp was a birthday present last year from my friend Shelley (hey, shelley) and the ribbon is some twill I dyed...
The paper the bird is stamped on is a lightly marbled paper, wish you could see it here, and I Stickles the wing and tail..
I hope you all had a great day and it wasn't too hot where you are.. it was 91 here in Cali today.. waaaay to hot for me :( so tomorrow I will be right here with the air on and hopefully get some pages done !! Thanks for stopping by... Jen

Summer Fun... Another quick post to share with you... This is Fathers Day at my brothers.. Alyssa had a good time in the pool, but she is just like her Grammie and doesn't like to get her face in the water !! so she just played on the steps all day and had a lot of fun :) this is all paper I have had forever and I added a little crepe paper to the corner..the white embellishment was cut out on the Cricut "Storybook" cartridge.
white swirls are "Me and My Big Ideas"... flowers were cut out on the Cricut "George" cartridge
and carnival tickets seem to be all the rage lately.. so I use a few of those.. sort of cute don't you think....
Have a great day... hope to see you tomorrow with a Mojo Monday card... enjoy ! Jen

It's Saturday Night !!! Hey, thanks for stopping by... I was busy at the crop last night making this frame that I totally "lifted" from Lisa Johnson at poppypaperie.typepad.com ... I think it turned out great !!! I used some swirl stamps (can't remember what company) and a friendship saying stamp from Hero Arts.. love this stamp, it's great for backgrounds too. I used some flowers I had and just folded and curled them till I got them like I wanted (sigh) I love flowers :) the flowers look orange here but they are actually pink.. I added a big pink button and some twine from Papertrey ink.. what do you think ?? Well, back to working on a page for Alyssa.. hope you are all having a great weekend and it's not too hot where you are... enjoy... Jen

Yankee Doodle Dandy... Hello everyone, I have another (and last) 4th of July card to share with you today. This is another image from the "Fashionista" stamp set... I just love this set, lots of different ways to use it.. This lady reminds me of a WWII pin up girl.. The ribbon was some left over from a cute blanket I got, it was tied up with this thick twill. All leftover paper, the "Yankee Doodle Dandy" was printed on the computer.. I've got to start doing that more, I look all the time for sentiment stamps and I just can't find any I like (at least any in my price range :) although I do have an order in at PaperTrey Ink.. love their stamps and I should be receiving an order from JustRite Stamps this week (silly grin) .... but today I think I will work on my granddaughters Fathers Day page... will share it with you when finished... enjoy your day... Little Fish... Isn't he the cutest :) we celebrated Fathers Day last Sunday at my brother's and all the kids went in the pool ( and some of the big kids :) Joe loves the water, he has since he was a little baby. He must have jumped in a hundred times and I think he swallowed half the pool !!! I used some Riminisce "Pool Party" paper I've had forever and some scraps, the "fish" is from "Piggy Tales".. swirls are from "ATD". Another great day here in Cali.. 85 degrees a nice breeze, bought a new washer & dryer, off work, made a cherry cobbler, bbq'd steak, got a page done.. and the Lakers won (woohoo)... Hope you and your family are well and having a great week... thanks for stopping by.. Jen

4th of July... I'm trying to get a little head start on my 4th cards.. so far I have made one !! (big laugh) I just love the Red, White & Blue.. I'm a very patriotic person... I cry every time I hear the "National Anthem" or the "Star Spangled Banner".. and when I see a soldier in uniform.. I just loose it :(.... I always think of my dad (Navy) my uncles & husband (Marines) my best friend (Air Force) and all of the men and women fighting for our country today... What brave and selfless people they are.. we need to remember them in our prayers everyday.. I found this patriotic cupcake stamp on sale at my local stamp store, there are a lot of cute images in the set.. all cupcakes, so cute.. and don't ya just love the sparkler :)
I used scraps (what else) a tiny tag from MishMash, some bakers twine to tie on the tag and some of my inked wrinkle ribbon.. the top of the cupcake is all Stickles, hard to see in the pic..
Hope all of you and your families are well and enjoying your weekend.. thanks for stopping by.. Jen

Peach Pie... I did it.. peach pie from scratch.. well I should say pie crust !! Peaches were out of a can :) A little flour, salt, sugar, Crisco, butter and ice water... and voila ! Pie crust.. well, it wasn't that easy but almost.. and oh so much better than the frozen stuff (yuck) the flower is strategically placed to cover a hole.. but that's just between you and me :)
here is my new recipe organizer from "Paula Dean", we carry her line at Michael's now..
And the best of all is that the pie even tasted good !! I used to bake all the time when my boys were little (a hundred years ago) but this is the first in a long time and it wasn't so bad... I just might do it again sometime !
Have a great weekend... see you soon. Jen

Just a Note... Good morning... I have a little note pad to share with you today.. I "lifted" the idea from "MishMash" Michelle Woodersons blog, such a cute idea and you can never have too many note pads... :) I used scraps, an old tag that I inked and distressed, a button, twine...
a little embellishment from Melissa Frances.. the little piece that looks like a tape measure is stamped on heavy twill with a stamp from "Fashionista" (Stampendous), I will have more to come using that stamp... 'notes' and 'this & that' are PaperTrey Ink "Take Note" stamp set..
This is the inside of the notepad, these are also from "PaperTrey Ink"..
I'm thinking about making a peach pie... from scratch (holy cow man) I haven't done that in years, so if it actually gets made I will take a picture to prove it :) Thanks for visiting and your comments are always welcome... enjoy... Jen

Fathers Day.... Hi, everyone... I'm still here :) just been busy with work and life !! but I wanted to share a quick (and easy) Fathers Day card with you.. I found this stamp on sale and have been waiting to use it.. lots of other images in the set but I really liked this one because my dad always wore a tie to work and he didn't take it off till he went to bed.. boy times have changed haven't they..... you very seldom see a man with a tie on... if they only knew how good they looked all dressed up (big smile:) now they wear their pants down around their **** well, let's not get into that !! Anyway... I used some leftover paper... the middle tie is paper pieced and the other two are colored with Copics..
No ribbon or bling... but I still really like the way this turned out.. Hope you all are having a good day.. see you tomorrow ... Jen
